Prepare Surface
Fasteners, screws and fastening devices are first tightened or replaced so that all metal sections are firmly held and all joining sections closed.
Pressure wash to achieve a clean, dry surface free of dirt, debris or other contaminants. Some surfaces mayrequire additional passes of pressure washing to ensure adhesion of the Astec® Re-Ply™ Metal Roof System.
Previously coated surfaces, including aluminum silver flake coatings, may require the application of ASTEC#4000 Surface Conditioner prior to the ASTEC® Re-Ply™ coating application.
Encapsulate Corrosion As Needed
- Scaling rust is first removed by scraping or mechanical wire brush.
- Apply ASTEC B-16-71 Rust Control specially formulated to neutralize and halt further metal roof corrosion.
Seal Fasteners
- Tighten or replace any loose fasteners.
- Encapsulate every fastener with ASTEC WPM #9 fluid membrane to insure a watertight seal.
Seal Seams & Flashings
Reinforce all seams, flashings, and penetrations with high tensile strength fabric saturated with ASTEC WPM #9 fluid membrane, or use WPM #10 fiber-reinforced fluid membrane.
Apply First Layer
Apply the first layer of ASTEC #2000 Finish for a tough, weatherproof membrane.
Apply Final Layer
Apply the second application of either ASTEC #900 or ASTEC #2000 Re-Ply finish to the roof. This results in a seamless, highly reflective "cool roof" that remains durable, weathertight, and pliable. Impervious to many airborne corrosives, ASTEC roofs have proven performance over 100's of millions of square feet.

Here are some frequently asked questions
If your roof still has structure left, replacement should not be the first option.
Is this a real roofing system or just a temporary fix?
This is a fully engineered roofing system. When installed over a qualified roof, it creates a reinforced, seamless, watertight membrane designed to perform long term.
What types of roofs does this system work on?
Our system is commonly installed over: EPDM, TPO, PVC, Modified Bitumen and Metal Roofs. Yes we will remove ballast.
What does the warranty actually cover?
The system includes a 15 year manufacturer backed, non-prorated labor and material warranty. Coverage does not decrease over time, and can be renewed at the end of term.
What happens at the end of the warranty period?
Unlike traditional roofs that eventually require full replacement, this system is designed to be renewable. After inspection and minor preparation, and additional coating can be applied, at a fraction of the original cost. Oh, the best part, you extend your warranty another 10 years. This process can be repeated multiples of times.
How disruptive is the installation process?
Because there is no tear-off, most projects are completed with absolutlely no disruption to building operations. Businesses remain open, equipment stays in place, and downtime is avoided.
Why choose renewal instead of replacing the roof now?
Because many roofs fail at seams and details, not because of the structural integrity of the roof. Renewal addresses those failure points, extends service life, reduces disruption, and preserves capital. Making it the smarter long-term decision.
How much does it cost?
In many cases renewal costs up to 40% less than full replacement. Eliminating tear-off, disposal, and downtime significantly reduces overall project cost.
